Our Unique Home In The Cosmos
By Neal Cromwell
What are the chances of there being life in the cosmos? Life spread all out among the stars, where beings are living and hacking out an existence. Then ask, what are the chances of there being places that are very similar to earth? That is to say, a sphere covered by 71 percent water with great land masses in constant motion. Then add to the mix, billions of people, hundreds of cultures, hundreds of languages, a multitude of religions, unlimited cultural expressions all trying to live on to the next generation. Now, zoom up and take a perspective of our earth as she spins through the cosmos. Are we humans not a scant and fragile traveler hanging on? This perspective, " the great perspective" should begin permeating our minds. For without it, our species will be lost I fear. With it, we have a chance to begin to see our plight, our road, our journey that we are all on. Perspective . . . perspective time - it's here and now for us to get it!
> Can someone comment on this idea of "perspective time"? That is to say, we humans have entered into a new period of self-reflective consciousness because we now know we are facing extinction.
